The agreement, in plain language

These terms are written to be read. They cover the Desu Studio app at desustudio.com and the optional account features built on top of it.
What Desu Studio is
Desu Studio is a local-first image studio: the editor, its effects, and its AI tools run in your browser, on your device. An account is optional and adds saving projects to your library, exporting project files, and unlimited AI background removal.
Your account
Accounts use Google Sign-In. You're responsible for the security of your Google account, and you agree that the information it provides to us is accurate. You must be at least 13 to use Desu Studio, and old enough to form a binding contract to buy a subscription.
Your content
Everything you create in Desu Studio is yours. We claim no ownership of it and no license to it. Your projects, images and edit history are stored on your own device and never reach our servers, so your content sits entirely outside these terms — it's simply yours.
Our content and code
Desu Studio — its source code, shaders, interface design, visual identity, and written content — is our copyrighted work, except for the open-source components credited on the licenses page. You may use the app; you may not copy, reproduce, republish, mirror, scrape, decompile, or create derivative works from it, or redistribute it in whole or in part, without our written permission. “Desu Studio” and the Desu Studio wordmark are our trademarks. Nothing in these terms grants any licence to them.
Acceptable use
Don't use Desu Studio to create or distribute content that's unlawful, that infringes someone else's rights, or that was created to harm others. Don't attempt to disrupt the service or access accounts or data that aren't yours.
Free and Plus
The free tier is a complete tool, not a trial — no watermarks and no time limits. Desu Studio Plus is a paid subscription (currently USD $7 per month or USD $60 billed annually, plus tax where applicable) that unlocks video export for animated shaders and maximum-resolution image export. Prices for new subscriptions may change; we'll never raise the price of an active subscription without telling you first.
Billing
Purchases are made through Paddle, our merchant of record — legally, Paddle is the seller, and “PADDLE.NET” is what appears on your card statement. Subscriptions renew monthly until canceled. You can cancel anytime from the manage-subscription page; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

Ending things
You can stop using Desu Studio, or delete your account from the account menu, at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that violate the acceptable-use terms above; where practical we'll warn you first. Any action we take applies to your account only — nothing we do reaches into your device or your local work.
Disclaimers
Desu Studio is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We work hard to keep it reliable, but we can't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free — which is one reason local files and exports are always yours to keep.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claims relating to Desu Studio is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable there.
Changes
If these terms change, we'll update the date at the top and, for material changes, say so in the app before they take effect. Continued use of the account features after that point means the new terms apply.
